Perfume of the Week - Guess Gold

To be perfectly honest Guess Gold is not my favourite perfume at all. In fact I don't like it. I remember smelling it for the first time and thinking it smelled absolutely amazing. I bought it in a very big bottle and it was quite a struggle to finish it.

Guess Gold is described as "a fruity oriental fragrance with top notes of citrus, golden apple, and pineapple; a heart hyacinth, pink pepper, water lily, jasmine, and rose with a base of vanilla, musk, sandalwood, patchouly, honey, and amber." To me it's more of an oriental scent, very musky but in a less luxurious way. It could almost be described as an unisex scent. Unfortunately lasting power is very poor regardless it being eau de perfume. It starts out smelling very strongly but fades away almost instantly.
Rather than wearing it on its own you can mix it with sweeter scents.

I had this perfume for almost two years and it was delegated as my work perfume (aka perfume that I don't like that much but will still use not to feel guilty that I essentially wasted my money and bought something I don't like). It is not a horrible scent but I would advise passing on it...

February Empties!

Finishing makeup/skincare is the best feeling ever! Money you spent on endless makeup and skincare purchases was not wasted (well partially at least).
I am notorious for convincing myself I absolutely need something, I will go buy that something use it for couple of weeks and afterwards just forget I own it or worse realize I never needed to buy it in the first place.
Well anyways long story short Feabruary was good month in terms of not being wasteful. I managed to finish 6 items!!! Some of them were sample size but still I deserve a pat on a shoulder :))).

I have already talked about these dry shampoos in my previous post so I will skip them here.

Biotherm Aquasource Skin Perfection - wonderful non greasy moisturizer given to me by my lovely sister <3. It is especially great if you have oily skin like me. It sinks it right away and leaves your skin very moisturized and fresh feeling without any oily residue. Smells citrusy in a good way :). I will definately buy this again once I finish all the other moisturizers I have accumulated.

Lancome Absolue Precious Cells - bit too greasy for my oily skin and I think it brakes me out :(. Smells bit funny. I will not buy this in full size as I dont think it is good for my skin type.

MAC Select Moisture Cover - lovely very lightweight concealer. Covers up my undereyes pretty well and never cakes up so will definately buy this again! (I already have :D!)

Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick in Nude Blush - very wearable peachy-brownish nude. Very moisturizing but has no staying power at all, you have to reapply every 15 minutes. Also it has very strong melony plasticky scent that I don't like. I think this range of lipsticks is discontinued and although lovely shade I would not buy this again because I want to try something new.

Have you finished any makeup lately?

Dry Shampoo: the Good and the Bad

I am a big believer in a dry shampoo. As my hair is quite fine it tends to look quite dull very fast and my second day hair looks horrible! So you will understand that for most of my adult life I used to wash my hair EVERY SINGLE DAY! Needles to say it means you have to get up much earlier and since I am not a morning person it made my life so much more complicated. That is until I discovered dry shampoo!!! The best invention since deodorant if you ask me. It is a miracle product, makes you hair instantly fresh and gives much desired volume (that I LOVE). In the last three month I have tried three different dry shampoos and here are my thoughts :).

Klorane
The most expensive of the bunch (around 19 $CAN) works really well. But here is the problem the bottle is finished after 3-4 uses which is absolutely ridiculous after shelling out around 20$!!! My sister has also used this one and had the same problem. I honestly believe its bit of a waste of money.

Fat Hair
Is definately my favourite out of these three. It is around 10$ CAN and does its job quite well. It does have a stronger scent than Klorane but it smells not bad and scent does not linger. I would definately buy this again.

Got2b rockin' it 4ever style stay
The cheapest of three is my least favourite. Its an absolute rubbish!!! It does nothing and smells horrible. Not only it doesnt keep your hair fresh, but makes it look greasier and dirtier! Will NEVER buy this again!

Have you tried dry shampoo? Which one is your favourite?
